Sleep Inertia After Waking Up |
|
This usually happens when you are abruptly woken out of deep sleep and is called Sleep Inertia. According to studies, the length and severity of sleep inertia will depend on the depth and time of sleep as well as on chemical inluencers presnt in the body. When the body is woken up in tne middle of deep sleep or during a trough in body temperature (circadian rhythms,) the longer and more severe the sleep inertia is. Sleep inertia will normally last for anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes and can occur both during night and day sleep. By far, the best remedy to avoid and reduce the condition is caffeine. |
