Creating Your Ideal Bedroom |
|
List down all the things you want your ideal bedroom to be. For me, it was the following: * Clean and no dust I really want a clean bedroom. I hate having to rest in a place with dust and cobwebs and dirt laying on the floor. * Smells nice I want a room with some fragrances. I prefer the smell of fresh flowers and plants over incense and candles. I find them more relaxing. * Can be dark when needed The room has to be able to be dark even at 12 in the afternoon. This can mean extra-thick curtains or tinted windows or wooden slide windows. I really don't mind which one is in it, as long as it can be dark when I want it to. * A big, soft, quiet bed I like big, soft beds. I like fluffy ones with clean-smelling sheets and pillows. I love beds that don't creak even after two years of use. Aaaaah, it's so nice to lie down in it! * A work table with a laptop, internet access and office supplies I'd like a table with work equipment so I can jump up whenever I wake up with an inspired idea and just put it down! * Quiet and insulated from outside noise There's nothing more irritating than having sleeping area where you can hear the neighbors' noise, the cars passing by and the monsters loose on the streets. :) I want a peaceful, tranquil room. ------ With your ideal bedroom clearly defined, work on making it happen. If a new bed and mattress is too expensive for your tastes right now, start with the things you can do today. With my list, I actually started by cleaning my room and establishing a regular cleaning habit to get rid of any dust on a day-to-day basis. I also hired a cleaner once a month to get the whole room in order as this skillset is definitely always one shower above my league. After you start with one, you'll find it much easier to move on to other things on your list. |
