I did Ori Hofmekler’s Warrior Diet for the better part of the last two weeks. I said better part because I skipped a total of 3 days in between the controlled fasting days.
Physical Results so far:
- no significant weight loss, just normal flip-flopping (i lose and gain 1 or 2 lbs each week, strangely enough)
Plus things:
- the claim about you being more alert and focused was 100% true. The catch is it became true for me around the fourth day. The second day, I had the nastiest headache which went away as soon as I had two bites at dinner.
How difficult is it:
- after the first two days it was pretty easy actually. I got easily used to eating one apple, a slice at a time, from the morning to 7pm. Since most fruits aren’t always cheap and easy to come by, I alternated only between one apple or half a small pineapple for my undereating phase.
Difficulties:
- Something I noticed is around 1pm, my mouth begins to have a bad taste, like a craving of sorts. At these times, I would either drink a couple of sips of fruit juice or take a small bite-slice of pineapple and eat it then the bad taste will go away, only to come back in around 10 minutes. The second week, I solved this by having two gulps of Coca Cola. Mouth craving was gone the rest of the day. However, sodas and sugar-based junkfood are (the only) things forbidden in the diet so it was cheating. This week, I am solving it by taking a glass of Extra Joss instead (It’s an Indonesian powedred energy drink.) We’ll see how that goes.
Overeating:
- You really do appreciate the food you eat at night after the period of undereating in the day. My problem is I get anxious and I think I end up eating too much. On the days I undereat, I end up eating about 3 medium-sized meals a night. For some reason, I get worried that if I don’t eat before I sleep, I won’t make it through the undereating phase in the morning. So basically, I haven’t tried having a normal dinner while on the diet. I plan to this week.
I last did the diet yesterday, Monday. I skipped today because I got zero sleep again. I should get back to diet tomorrow. Will post further results.
