1. Start a website
2. Host it with a 3 dollar a month host, like mine
3. Don’t do your own backups and trust that the host (I suspect in my case, a reseller) does backups
LOL!
The site was wiped out and inaccessible for the last two and a half days and the host/reseller had NO functional backup. Fuck! After a little digging with the help of a two-month old backup plus google cache plus a little mySQL work, Quickie Sheets is up again. Haaaaaa!
Anyway, if the layout is shit or if there are broken links, just let it pass for now, I’m still fixing everything. Will likely move the site to a new host too, probably with the one that hosts my other sites. I just feel a bit bad I have to fork out money again.
I guess you do get what you pay for and three dollars pays for crappy service.
